Securitize has announced the appointment of Chongwu Du as its Chief Strategy Officer, marking an important leadership progression as the company advances its position in real-world asset tokenization and institutional blockchain finance. In his new role, Du will be responsible for guiding the company’s long-term strategic direction, supporting continued growth of its on-chain asset platform, and deepening collaboration with global financial institutions. Du’s appointment comes at a time when Securitize is scaling its regulated digital asset infrastructure and expanding access to compliant, blockchain-based financial products. As Chief Strategy Officer, he will focus on long-term planning, innovation, and strategic alignment to further strengthen the company’s leadership within the evolving digital finance ecosystem.
Prior to assuming the CSO role, Du served as Head of Strategy at Securitize and earlier as Chief of Staff, where he played a key role in shaping strategic initiatives and supporting executive leadership. During this period, he contributed to the company’s rapid growth by helping scale operations, refine institutional positioning, and align business execution with emerging opportunities across blockchain and financial technology. Before joining Securitize, Du developed a diverse background across finance, venture development, and blockchain innovation. He previously served as an Accelerator Manager at Cypher Accelerator, a Wharton-backed program supporting global blockchain and crypto founders, where he led mentorship initiatives and worked closely with early-stage ventures. His experience also includes MBA associate roles with Hyperlane, focusing on cross-chain interoperability, and Avanta Ventures, where he supported investment initiatives in fintech and insurtech.
Earlier in his career, Du worked in growth equity investing at H Capital and served as a Quantitative Investment Analyst at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, gaining experience in institutional investing and financial analysis. He also brings entrepreneurial experience as the co-founder of Yaso Tangbao, further reflecting a career that spans traditional finance, startups, and emerging technologies. Du holds an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from The Wharton School, where he also served as a teaching assistant for a course focused on blockchain and cryptocurrencies, underscoring his academic and practical engagement with digital asset innovation.
