Citi Elevates Nisha Padbidri as Global Head of HR Partnership for Technology, Operations, HR and Functions

Citi has announced the elevation of Nisha Padbidri as Global Head of HR Partnership for Technology, Operations, HR and Functions, a pivotal leadership role that marks a milestone in the company’s global talent strategy. Notably, this is the first time the role will be based in Mumbai, India, underscoring the country’s increasing importance in Citi’s worldwide operations. In her new capacity, Nisha will oversee HR business partnership efforts for more than 140,000 employees—over 62% of Citi’s global workforce spread across 98 countries.

With nearly three decades of experience, Nisha will play a central role in shaping Citi’s human capital strategy across its vast technology and operations functions. Her promotion highlights the bank’s emphasis on distributed leadership, global inclusivity, and the integration of India as a critical hub in driving its workforce agenda.

During her career at Citi, Nisha has held several senior HR leadership positions across Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines, developing deep expertise in organizational transformation, talent development, and strategic workforce management. Her diverse global exposure has equipped her with the perspective to align HR strategy with Citi’s evolving business priorities and innovation goals.
