Santiago,2026.– With the aim of deepening its digital transformation and advancing in the strategic use of emerging technologies, Codelco and Microsoft signed an agreement that establishes a collaboration framework to evaluate joint initiatives in artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, automation and digital security, among other topics.
The agreement, signed by Codelco CEO Rubén Alvarado and Microsoft Latin America President Tito Arciniega, builds on a working relationship of more than 27 years between the two companies, a period in which they have developed projects in multiple areas. This new stage seeks to incorporate cutting-edge tools, under high standards of cybersecurity and data protection.
“Working with a world-class technology partner like Microsoft consolidates our leadership in the mining of the future. In the face of an accelerated digital transformation, we must process and consider large volumes of data in operations. That is the objective of this alliance: to optimize the management of our assets through innovative solutions, maximizing the value we deliver to the State of Chile,” said Rubén Alvarado, CEO of Codelco.
“This alliance with Codelco reflects the potential that artificial intelligence represents to promote the development of the mining sector and the Chilean market in general, enabling safer, more efficient and sustainable operations with a focus on people, productivity and long-term value for the business and the country,” said Tito Arciniega, president of Microsoft Latin America.
Among the areas of work that will be evaluated are the intensive use of data, advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to improve decision-making; the development of more autonomous and safer operations; the automation of critical processes; the strengthening of cybersecurity and the promotion of technological training programs for workers and teams. The agreement also contemplates the possibility of developing pilots, participating in early tests of new solutions, sharing international experiences and promoting links with the innovation ecosystem.
