Cognizant Appoints Urvi Mehta as Head of Life Science Marketing for the Americas
Cognizant has announced the appointment of Urvi Mehta as its Head of Life Science Marketing, where she will lead integrated marketing strategies for biopharma, medtech, and healthcare clients across the Americas. In this role, Urvi is responsible for driving demand generation, thought leadership initiatives, executive engagement, and digital acceleration, all aimed at strengthening Cognizant’s position as a global leader in the Life Sciences sector.

In addition to her role at Cognizant, Urvi continues her long-standing association as a Council Member with GLG (Gerson Lehrman Group), where she provides industry insights and guidance to global decision-makers, contributing to shaping strategies across healthcare and life sciences.

Urvi’s professional journey spans leadership roles across healthcare, life sciences, and technology-driven marketing. Prior to joining Cognizant, she served as Senior Vice President at Brand First, where she oversaw growth marketing and strategic client initiatives. At Indegene, she was instrumental in driving presales for large and strategic deals, spearheading customer expansion programs, and implementing account-based marketing strategies to boost enterprise-level engagement.

She also brings extensive global experience from her tenure as Head of Marketing at IQVIA for Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia, where she focused on building market presence and strengthening client relationships in key geographies. Earlier in her career, Urvi worked with leading organizations such as GE HealthCare, Excelra Knowledge Solutions, Brand Aid, Grey Matter Media House, and MAA Communications Ltd., gaining expertise across marketing communications, branding, and client engagement.

Her career reflects a strong foundation in combining healthcare domain knowledge with technology-enabled marketing to deliver measurable business impact. At Cognizant, she is expected to build a robust marketing framework that elevates the company’s thought leadership, enhances its brand positioning, and drives meaningful client engagement in the competitive global life sciences landscape.
