
Mirae Asset Mutual Fund (India) has appointed Darshan Chavan as its Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Based in Mumbai, he will lead the organisation’s information security strategy and oversee initiatives aimed at strengthening cybersecurity frameworks and protecting digital assets across the company’s operations.
Welcoming him to the leadership team, the company said, “Join us in welcoming Darshan Chavan our new Chief Information Security Officer at Mirae Asset Mutual Fund (India). His presence marks an exciting addition to our leadership team, and we look forward to a successful journey ahead.”
Chavan joins Mirae Asset Mutual Fund after serving as Chief Information Security Officer at Canara Robeco Asset Management Company Limited, where he worked for more than four years from November 2021 to February 2026. In that role, he was responsible for overseeing information security governance, strengthening cyber risk management frameworks and ensuring regulatory compliance across the organisation’s technology environment.
Before that, he spent over six years with SBI Mutual Fund as Information Security Officer from May 2015 to November 2021. During this period, he contributed to enhancing the company’s information security architecture and managing risk mitigation measures for digital and operational systems.
Earlier in his career, Chavan worked with Nippon India Mutual Fund, where he was part of the information security function for nearly eight years between July 2007 and May 2015. His role involved supporting security operations and implementing cybersecurity practices within the organisation.
He began his professional journey with Sify, where he served as Senior Executive – IT from January 2006 to June 2007.
With close to two decades of experience across information security, IT infrastructure and cybersecurity management in the financial services sector, Chavan’s appointment is expected to further strengthen Mirae Asset Mutual Fund (India)’s focus on safeguarding digital operations and maintaining robust security standards.
