Apollo Hospitals, Bhopal (ASH) has announced that Dhananjay Kumar has officially taken charge as its Chief Executive Officer, bringing with him nearly 20 years of experience in hospital operations, business transformation, and digital innovation. His appointment marks a key milestone in the hospital’s growth journey as it continues to strengthen its position as a premier healthcare provider in the region.

Dhananjay’s rise within the Apollo network has been rapid and noteworthy. In just 1.5 years within the Apollo system, he rose from COO to Chief Executive Officer, a progression that reflects his impactful leadership. During this period, he successfully steered the Bhopal unit to breakeven, delivering a healthy EBITDA within just 18 months of the hospital’s commissioning—an achievement that underscores his ability to drive operational and financial excellence.

Now, as CEO, Dhananjay is focused on scaling growth while deepening Apollo’s patient-centric approach. His mandate includes enhancing clinical outcomes, improving patient experience, and leveraging technology to deliver efficient, world-class healthcare services.

Over the course of his career, Dhananjay has made significant contributions across several leading healthcare organizations. His prior leadership roles include stints at BR Life, CK Birla Hospitals, Kalinga Hospital, Gleneagles Global Hospitals, and Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital, Pune, as well as an earlier tenure at Apollo Hospital, Pune. His expertise spans a broad spectrum—hospital operations, digital transformation initiatives, patient services, and strategic business development—helping organizations achieve sustainable growth and operational efficiency.
