Six months into his role as Component Development Lead at Ather Energy, Dipanjan Dey has shared reflections on his professional journey with the EV major, underscoring the company’s strong culture of innovation, collaboration, and employee well-being.
Dey, who joined Ather earlier this year, described his experience as both “enriching and inspiring,” attributing it to the organisation’s commitment to technical excellence and people-first policies. According to him, Ather Energy stands out for empowering its teams with cutting-edge technologies while maintaining a deep respect for proven systems.
He praised the company’s forward-thinking approach to product development, citing its adoption of digital and AI-driven workflows across both technical and operational functions. Products like HALO and AI-backed features reflect this shift, which Dey views as central to Ather’s innovation DNA.
Dey also pointed to the company’s management style as a key differentiator. “Setbacks happen,” he noted, “but what sets Ather apart is how teams come together—leaders included—to bounce back and make meaningful decisions collaboratively.”
Ather’s workplace agility and youthful energy have created an environment where experimentation and flexibility thrive, according to Dey. He also highlighted the organisation’s emphasis on quality and precision in manufacturing, particularly with the launch of Factory 3.0 in Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, aimed at setting new benchmarks in rework-free production.
Work-life balance, Dey said, is not just a buzzword at Ather but a well-embedded reality. He credited the People Operations (POPS) team and the founders for designing policies that promote well-being and employee engagement at every level.
With Ather continuing to lead the charge in India’s EV landscape, Dey expressed confidence and excitement about contributing to the company’s future growth and innovation journey.
