
Doug Goehl has been appointed Chief Information Officer at Optiv, marking a pivotal moment in his leadership progression within the cyber advisory and solutions firm. In his new capacity, Goehl will oversee Optiv’s global IT strategy, guiding digital transformation initiatives, advancing enterprise technology innovation, and strengthening operational performance to support the company’s continued expansion in an increasingly complex cybersecurity environment.
His elevation signals Optiv’s confidence in his ability to align enterprise technology strategy with broader business objectives, ensuring scalable systems and resilient infrastructure as the organisation grows.
Goehl originally joined Optiv in April 2024 as Vice President, IT Business Process, based in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area in an on-site capacity. Over the course of one year and eleven months in that role, he focused on reinforcing the company’s foundational enterprise systems, refining business processes, and improving collaboration across departments. His work centered on enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring that technology platforms were effectively supporting strategic priorities.
Before joining Optiv, Goehl spent nearly nine years at Crocs, where he held a series of senior leadership roles that reflected steady advancement and expanding global responsibility. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Customer Technologies from August 2023 to March 2024. In that position, he led initiatives focused on customer-facing platforms and digital capabilities designed to enhance engagement and modernise user experiences.
From September 2022 to August 2023, he was Vice President, Global Enterprise Applications, overseeing enterprise-wide systems and application strategy. Prior to that, he held the role of Vice President, Global Retail IT and People Systems from April 2020 to September 2022 in Broomfield, Colorado. In this capacity, he directed global retail technology operations and people systems, supporting business transformation across multiple markets.
Earlier during his tenure at Crocs, Goehl served as Senior Director, Global Retail IT Systems from March 2017 to April 2020, where he led retail systems strategy and execution at scale. Before that, he was Senior Director, Business Development from June 2015 to March 2017, contributing to growth-focused initiatives and strategic expansion efforts.
Prior to his time at Crocs, Goehl held leadership positions at Payless ShoeSource, further developing his expertise in retail technology and enterprise systems. He also gained early career experience at The Corridor Group and The Rockport Company, building a foundation in business systems and operational technology.
Goehl is a graduate of the University of Kansas – Graduate School of Business, and brings extensive experience in enterprise technology leadership, platform modernisation, and digital transformation. Across his career, he has consistently led global teams, modernised core platforms, and delivered customer-centric digital initiatives designed to support sustainable growth.
Now as Chief Information Officer at Optiv, Goehl steps into a role that places him at the centre of the company’s technology evolution. With cybersecurity environments becoming more dynamic and operational demands intensifying, his mandate includes ensuring that IT strategy not only supports internal performance but also strengthens Optiv’s position as a leader in cyber advisory and solutions.
