Trident Group has announced the appointment of Dr. Satish Mishra as its new Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO), marking a significant step in advancing the company’s environmental and ESG vision. With over two decades of rich experience in ESG strategy, sustainability governance, compliance, and stakeholder engagement, Dr. Mishra will play a key role in driving the Group’s sustainability transformation across its wide-ranging business sectors, including home textiles, paper, chemicals, yarn, and energy.
In his new role, “Dr. Mishra joins us to lead the Group’s climate action roadmap, circular economy programs, and ESG transformation across our diverse business portfolio.” His leadership will focus on integrating sustainability at the core of Trident’s operations, elevating ESG performance, and aligning business practices with evolving global sustainability standards.
Before joining Trident Group, Dr. Mishra served as Associate Vice President (Environment and Sustainability) at JSW Steel’s Vijayanagar plant, the country’s largest integrated steel manufacturing facility. During his tenure, he was instrumental in implementing strategic sustainability frameworks, developing ESG financing models, ensuring environmental compliance, and steering the plant toward ResponsibleSteel™ certification.
His professional journey also includes senior leadership roles at renowned industrial conglomerates such as Dalmia Bharat Group, JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd., Vedanta Group, ACC, and Ambuja Cements Limited, where he played a pivotal role in advancing large-scale sustainability and environmental initiatives.
Academically, Dr. Mishra brings a strong foundation in environmental science and management. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science, an M.Tech in Environmental Engineering, and an MBA from IIM Sambalpur. Additionally, he contributes as an expert panellist to leading institutes and platforms on emerging ESG and climate change agendas.
At Trident Group, “Dr. Mishra will be responsible for strengthening ESG performance, enhancing stakeholder and investor communications, managing global supplier and customer sustainability partnerships, and embedding sustainability and compliance into the core of our operations.” His appointment reflects Trident’s commitment to sustainable business practices and its ambition to lead in responsible manufacturing.
