Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited has appointed R. S. Vasan as President – India Business and Senior Management Personnel (SMP), effective July 14, 2025. With an illustrious career spanning over four decades in the pharmaceutical sector, Mr. Vasan brings to Emcure a wealth of industry knowledge, leadership experience, and a reputation for driving operational excellence. His appointment is set to enhance Emcure’s domestic footprint and support its long-term business objectives.
Prior to this role, Mr. Vasan served at SUN PHARMA for over 15 years, where he held a variety of senior leadership positions. His extensive experience also includes leadership stints at several other prominent pharmaceutical companies, solidifying his reputation as a seasoned industry professional with deep market insight.
Academically, Mr. Vasan is well-credentialed. He holds a postgraduate degree in Management from Macquarie Business School, Sydney, and is an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, and ISB Hyderabad. Further enhancing his scientific and technical foundation, he is also a rank holder in Master of Science in Organic Chemistry.
