San Francisco–based AI startup Emergent has raised $70 million in a Series B funding round led by Khosla Ventures and SoftBank Vision Fund 2, with participation from Prosus, Lightspeed, Together, and Y Combinator. The latest round brings the company’s total funding to $100 million just seven months after launch, highlighting strong investor confidence and rapid global adoption of its AI-powered software development platform.
Emergent has already built a user base of more than 5 million people across over 190 countries, reflecting growing demand from entrepreneurs and small businesses seeking faster, more affordable ways to build software. The company reported that it has reached $50 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and expects to surpass $100 million in ARR by April 2026, underlining the commercial momentum behind its model.
The newly raised capital will be used to expand Emergent’s team, deepen product capabilities, and scale operations into new international markets. As AI continues to reshape how software is built, Emergent is positioning itself as an end-to-end platform that allows users to design, build, test, and scale production-ready applications without requiring deep technical expertise. Its platform also integrates essential business tools such as billing and payments through services like Stripe, enabling users to move quickly from idea to revenue.
“Software creation is undergoing a structural shift,” said Mukund Jha, co-founder and CEO of Emergent. “It used to be that only people with technical training or capital got to turn ideas into real products. Emergent flips that model. We are seeing millions of people build and ship real businesses, workflows, and products in days.” His comments reflect a broader trend in which AI is lowering traditional barriers to entry in software development.
Investors echoed this view, pointing to the company’s potential to unlock a new wave of digital entrepreneurship. SoftBank Investment Advisers partner Sarthak Misra said, “Emergent is harnessing AI to unlock a massive wave of entrepreneurship by removing the technical and capital barriers that have historically limited who can build software.”
With its rapid revenue growth, expanding global footprint, and strong backing from top-tier investors, Emergent is emerging as a key player in the fast-evolving AI software creation landscape. As more individuals and small teams look to AI-first platforms to build scalable products, the company aims to play a central role in redefining how software businesses are created and grown worldwide.
