Ex-GVFL MD Kamal Bansal Joins Steptrade as an Advisory Board member

Steptrade Share Services, a SEBI-registered investment management entity, has announced the appointment of Mr. Kamal Bansal, former Managing Director of GVFL, as a member of its Advisory Board.

Mr Bansal’s appointment will strengthen Steptrade’s leadership team as the company prepares to expand its presence in the capital market landscape.

Mr. Bansal brings over 25 years of rich experience across venture capital, private equity, public markets, and investment banking. From helping launch one of India’s earliest tech-focused VC funds at SIDBI and operationalizing the national Fund of Funds initiative, to transforming GVFL into a platform-driven, innovation-first VC, his work has consistently shaped institutional thinking across the investment spectrum.

On the appointment, Kresha Gupta, Director & Fund Manager at Steptrade Capital, said, “Having someone like Mr. Bansal on our advisory board reflects Steptrade’s evolution toward strategic depth, long-term vision, and institutional scale. His broad perspective, experience across industries, and strategic insight will help us sharpen our approach as we scale in the small and microcap space. His guidance reinforces our commitment to disciplined investing and long-term value creation.”

“It’s a privilege to join Steptrade Capital at such a pivotal phase of its growth journey. I look forward to working alongside this young, visionary team. My focus on driving innovation and streamlining processes will complement their efforts to identify high-potential opportunities and build scalable, impactful businesses,” Mr Bansal said.

Mr. Bansal is currently Founder and Managing Partner of BRK Ventures, a platform focused on investing in and accelerating high-potential businesses at the intersection of tech, sustainability, and scalable impact. During his tenure at Bonanza Portfolio, he established and scaled the institutional equities and investment banking business, driving capital solutions across sectors such as healthcare, renewable energy, microfinance, and education.
