Varun Pasricha has been elevated to Chief Executive Officer at Excitel Broadband, effective March 2026. The transition signals a new chapter for the home broadband provider as Pasricha steps into the top role after nearly eight years of shaping the company’s operational and strategic direction.
Having joined Excitel in August 2018 as Chief Operating Officer, Pasricha played a central role in scaling the company’s footprint and positioning it as one of India’s most recognized and “loved” broadband brands. As CEO, he will now lead the company’s next phase of growth, with a focus on expanding deeper into Tier II and Tier III markets and strengthening its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) infrastructure in an increasingly competitive broadband landscape.
During his tenure as COO, Pasricha was widely regarded as the operational force behind Excitel’s rapid growth. His leadership combined rigorous execution with strategic clarity, helping the company scale efficiently while enhancing service quality and brand recall.
Before joining Excitel, Pasricha held senior leadership positions across diverse sectors. At Zomato, he served as Global Business Head – Partner Growth, where he led the transition from fixed advertising slots to a performance-driven engagement model. In that role, he migrated more than 7,000 paying clients globally and delivered a 20 percent upsell across the portfolio, overseeing partner growth across India and the UAE.
Earlier, at G4S India, he managed a profit and loss portfolio exceeding Rs 1,000 crore as Senior Vice President – Strategic Business. Over two years, he expanded the business by approximately 50 percent while improving margins through contract renegotiations and cross-selling initiatives. He also worked on corporate strategy, restructuring, and new business launches, including entry into last-mile logistics.
Pasricha’s background also includes roles at Max Healthcare, where he worked on business strategy and joint venture rollouts in Tier II cities, and at Indus Towers Limited, where he served in the central strategy team, helping transform the energy vertical from a cost center into a revenue-generating function. Earlier in his career, he was an analyst at McKinsey & Company, developing the strategic and analytical foundation that would later define his operating leadership.
With a career spanning consulting, corporate strategy, P&L leadership, and large-scale business transformation, Pasricha now takes the helm at Excitel to consolidate its position as a key player in India’s digital infrastructure landscape and to drive the next wave of broadband penetration across emerging urban markets.
