Exotel has acquihired the leadership team of voice AI startup Dubverse as part of its strategy to strengthen its artificial intelligence capabilities in enterprise customer experience (CX). The deal includes Dubverse cofounders Anuja Dhawan and Varshul Gupta, although financial details have not been disclosed.
As part of the transition, Dhawan will lead Exotel’s Conversation Quality Analytics (CQA) solution, while Gupta will head the company’s AI initiatives. The move is aimed at enhancing Exotel’s AI stack and enabling more scalable, outcome-driven customer engagement solutions for enterprises.
Founded in 2011, Exotel provides AI-powered voice and chat agents that help businesses manage customer interactions across channels. The company also offers analytics tools to track metrics such as call volumes, durations, and performance insights, and is increasingly focusing on expanding its AI and automation capabilities.
Dubverse, established in 2021, has been building AI solutions focused on multilingual content creation, including video dubbing, subtitles, text-to-speech, and translation tools. The startup claims to support over 3 million users across more than 70 languages, reflecting strong adoption of its language AI technology.
Commenting on the development, Exotel’s founder and CEO Shivakumar Ganesan highlighted the importance of acquiring a cohesive team with deep technical expertise, stating that such capabilities are difficult to build incrementally.
The acquihire comes at a time when enterprises are increasingly investing in AI-driven customer engagement tools, including conversational intelligence, sentiment analysis, and automation. By integrating Dubverse’s voice and language AI capabilities, Exotel aims to strengthen its position in the evolving AI-led CX market and deliver more intelligent, real-time customer interaction solutions at scale.
