WeRize, a full-stack financial services platform, is set to raise Rs 64 crore (approximately $6.9 million) in fresh funding led by Sony Innovation Fund, with participation from existing investor 3one4 Capital.
According to regulatory filings accessed via the Registrar of Companies (RoC), the company’s board has approved the issuance of 10,150 convertible equity instruments at a face value of Rs 63,272.50 each, aggregating to a total of Rs 64 crore. As part of the round, Sony Innovation Fund will contribute nearly Rs 46 crore, while 3one4 Capital will invest the remaining Rs 18 crore.
The newly raised capital will be utilized to support general operations, meet working capital requirements, fund capital expenditure, and drive business expansion initiatives.
Founded by former Lendingkart executives Vishal Chopra and Himanshu Gupta, WeRize focuses on delivering customized financial products including credit, insurance, and savings solutions. The platform caters to approximately 300 million individuals across more than 4,000 tier II to tier IV towns, leveraging large-scale data insights to design tailored offerings such as group insurance, credit products, and savings instruments.
The company’s previous funding round took place in June 2022, when it raised $15.5 million at a valuation of $115 million from investors including British International Investment, Sony Innovation Fund, and other existing backers.
On the financial front, WeRize has demonstrated strong growth momentum. For the fiscal year ending March 2025, its operating revenue rose by 64% to Rs 236 crore, up from Rs 144 crore in the previous year. During the same period, the company also doubled its profit to Rs 10 crore.
