Flipkart has appointed Smita Ojha as Vice President of Engineering and Amit Sharma as Vice President of Program Management, as part of its efforts to reinforce core technology capabilities and execution strength.
Both leaders will operate within OneTech, the company’s integrated product and technology organisation responsible for developing and managing digital experiences across the platform. The appointments align with Flipkart’s broader strategy to scale its infrastructure and transition toward more advanced, AI-driven systems.
Smita Ojha will lead the Central Platforms Group within OneTech, focusing on platform engineering and strengthening the underlying technology stack. She brings over two decades of experience and joins from Mindtickle, where she served as Senior Vice President of Engineering.
Amit Sharma will head the Technical Program Management function for OneTech, overseeing large-scale execution and delivery. With more than 25 years of professional experience, he has previously worked as a Director at Amazon and held leadership roles at Accenture and WNS.
Earlier in his career, Sharma served in the Indian Army for five years as a Major, where he managed operations, training, and administration for an infantry battalion and led a Ghatak platoon.
Commenting on the appointments, Balaji Thiagarajan, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Flipkart, said, “As we enter our next phase of growth and accelerate our AI-native evolution, investing in strong leadership across technology and program management remains a key priority. Smita and Amit bring complementary strengths in platform engineering and large-scale execution, which will be instrumental in advancing our innovation agenda and enabling scalable, future-ready capabilities across Flipkart.”
With these additions, Flipkart aims to further strengthen its engineering and program management leadership as it continues to expand its digital platforms and enhance operational efficiency in an increasingly competitive e-commerce landscape.
