Bengaluru:
Flipkart has appointed senior executive Ravi Iyer as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of its Marketplace division, a role that had remained unfilled since Sakait Chaudhary took over leadership of the Marketplace business earlier this year. The development was first reported by Moneycontrol.
Iyer, who currently serves as Senior Vice President heading the Corporate Business Unit, will now take on the additional responsibility of Marketplace CFO. He will continue to oversee corporate development, group financial planning and analysis (FP&A), investor relations, and the office of the CEO. His new role is effective immediately.
The announcement was made internally by Group CFO Sriram Venkataraman, who had been overseeing both Group and Marketplace finance functions following Chaudhary’s elevation. Venkataraman will now return to focusing solely on his Group CFO role.
“As part of his additional responsibilities, he will work closely with leaders across all the functions and business units and will continue to report to me,” Venkataraman said in the internal communication seen by Moneycontrol.
In the same restructuring, three senior finance leaders—Kannan Ganesan, Vice President and Business Finance Head; Amit Sood, Business Finance Head for logistics arm eKart; and Ashish Surana, who leads FP&A—will now report to Iyer.
Iyer, a veteran at Flipkart, has been with the company for over 11 years, while Venkataraman has spent nearly a decade at the Bengaluru-based firm.
The leadership changes come at a pivotal time, as Flipkart works on shifting the domicile of its parent entity from Singapore to India.
