
Sonam Sharma has been elevated to Senior Director, Data Science at Gartner, marking a significant milestone in her journey with the organization.
In her new role, she will continue to lead advanced data science initiatives, leveraging emerging technologies such as large language models and agentic AI to enhance enterprise workflows and drive improved business outcomes.
Over her nearly four-year tenure at Gartner, Sharma has played a key role in shaping AI strategy, collaborating across cross-functional teams, and building scalable, high-impact solutions aligned with organizational priorities. Most recently, as Director, Data Science within Global Strategy & Operations, she spearheaded initiatives focused on improving internal workflows through advanced AI-led capabilities.
Prior to joining Gartner, she served as Assistant Vice President, Analytics at EXL, where she established analytical risk frameworks and developed automated solutions to identify operational inefficiencies.
She also held the role of Team Lead – Data Science at DMI Finance Private Limited, leading teams focused on credit risk analytics across consumer and personal loan portfolios, while mentoring data science professionals and driving end-to-end analytical solutions.
Earlier in her career, Sharma spent over six years at ICICI Bank, contributing to digitisation initiatives and cross-border payment systems, building a strong foundation in financial services and analytics.
With deep expertise spanning AI, data science, and financial services, her elevation reflects a consistent track record of innovation, execution, and leadership. In her expanded role, she is well positioned to further strengthen Gartner’s data science capabilities and drive impactful, AI-led transformation.
