Gaurav Rajput Appointed Chief Marketing Officer at Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd.

Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. (BCCL), publisher of The Times of India, has appointed Gaurav Rajput as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). With close to 30 years of experience across Indian and global markets, Gaurav will lead the company’s marketing strategy and brand transformation efforts across its diverse media portfolio.

Before joining BCCL, Gaurav served as Managing Director and Global Head of Corporate & Investment Bank Marketing at Standard Chartered, where he led marketing initiatives spanning 53 countries. At BCCL, his mandate includes revitalizing brand architecture and driving strategic marketing initiatives to reinforce the company’s market leadership in the media space.

Gaurav brings a rich and diverse background, having held senior leadership roles at notable organizations such as IDFC FIRST Bank, Cigna TTK Health Insurance, Aviva Life Insurance, Citi India, NDTV, and advertising powerhouses Rediffusion Y&R and FCB Ulka. His career spans financial services, insurance, media, and advertising—giving him a deep understanding of consumer behavior and brand positioning across industries.

Throughout his professional journey, Gaurav has played a key role in building, evolving, and transforming marketing and corporate affairs functions, helping companies adapt to dynamic consumer needs and competitive landscapes. His approach has consistently combined strategic vision with creative execution to deliver impactful results.

An MBA in Marketing from Welingkar Institute of Management, Gaurav now steps into his role at BCCL with a strong foundation in brand strategy, digital transformation, and integrated marketing communications.

With the Indian media industry undergoing rapid shifts amid digital disruption and changing consumption patterns, Gaurav’s appointment comes at a crucial time. His leadership is expected to help BCCL strengthen its brand equity, explore new marketing channels, and enhance audience engagement across its print and digital platforms.
