Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) has appointed GL Gupta as the new Group Chief Procurement Officer (CPO), a strategic leadership addition responsible for overseeing procurement and supply chain operations across MEIL and its subsidiaries, including Olectra Greentech Limited, Drillmec S.p.A., Megha Gas, and ICOMM. “GL GUPTA has joined Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) as Group Chief Procurement Officer (CPO), taking charge of procurement and supply chain operations across MEIL and its subsidiaries.” His role is critical in integrating procurement functions across diverse sectors such as water infrastructure, transportation, power, hydrocarbons, refineries, clean mobility, and defense.
With over 30 years of leadership experience, Mr. Gupta brings a wealth of expertise in driving procurement excellence and aligning sourcing strategies with large-scale EPC projects globally. “With over three decades of leadership experience, he will lead procurement integration across diverse sectors including water infrastructure, transportation, power, hydrocarbons, refineries, clean mobility, and defense.” His appointment reflects MEIL’s ambition to strengthen its supply chain capabilities and enhance operational efficiency in international markets.
Before joining MEIL, GL Gupta was President & CPO at Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL), where he was instrumental in streamlining procurement processes for major infrastructure projects. His earlier career includes a significant tenure at Reliance Industries Limited for 18 years and a leadership role as EPC Head at Azure Power. Throughout his career, he has managed procurement and project execution for thermal and solar power projects, metro and railway systems, offshore platforms, and petrochemical plants across more than 70 countries.
An alumnus of premier institutes including the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, and MNIT Jaipur, Mr. Gupta combines strong academic credentials with practical experience in global vendor development, digital procurement systems, and strategic cost optimization.
