Google has rolled out vibe coding capabilities to its AI Studio platform, allowing developers to create AI-powered applications simply by describing their ideas in plain language. The feature automatically generates the code for the app and provides a live preview — marking a major leap toward democratizing app development through conversational AI. Alongside this launch, Google has also made its Veo 3 video generation model and Nano Banana image editing model available to developers. Notably, users can deploy their completed apps directly from within AI Studio.
Vibe coding — a trending concept in AI-driven software development — emphasizes creativity over technical execution. Instead of writing code line by line, developers explain what they want the app to do, and the AI handles the implementation. As Google explained, this approach transforms the developer into an “orchestrator,” focusing on describing the idea clearly, making iterative changes via text prompts, and sharing natural language feedback.
The concept has surged in popularity for its accessibility and efficiency. By lowering the barrier to entry, vibe coding enables non-technical users to participate in software creation while also helping professionals accelerate prototyping. “The speed of code generation has also resulted in many major corporations, including Google itself, opting for vibe coding in its workplace,” the company noted.
Now, with AI Studio’s new upgrade, developers can generate multimodal AI apps — combining text, image, and video capabilities — using Google’s advanced AI models such as Veo 3 for video synthesis and Nano Banana for intelligent image manipulation.
Behind the intuitive interface lies a powerful algorithm that interprets the user’s intent and context, automatically linking the appropriate AI models and APIs to produce the final code. To make experimentation even easier, Google has introduced an “I’m Feeling Lucky” button that generates a random app idea as inspiration for creators exploring new possibilities.
In addition, a redesigned App Gallery showcases the potential of Gemini-powered development, offering sample projects, live previews, and editable starter code. Users can learn from existing examples and remix them into custom applications. While AI Studio offers a free usage quota, developers who exceed it can integrate their API keys to continue building seamlessly.
With vibe coding now integrated into AI Studio, Google is taking a bold step toward a future where coding feels less like programming — and more like a conversation with intelligent systems.
