Google Promotes Abhinav Rastogi to Lead Global Marketing for YouTube Shopping

Abhinav Rastogi has been elevated to Global Marketing Director, YouTube Shopping at Google, where he will lead global marketing efforts for the platform’s fast-growing creator-commerce ecosystem. Based in Singapore, he will focus on expanding YouTube Shopping into new markets, strengthening creator-led commerce, and driving growth across a global network of teams.

Rastogi shared that he stepped into the role in February 2026, noting, “A month ago, I stepped into a new role as the Global Marketing Director for YouTube Shopping.”

In his new position, he will play a key role in shaping how commerce is integrated into content on YouTube. He emphasized the growing influence of creators in driving purchasing behavior on the platform. “For years, creators have been doing something quietly remarkable. They build trust with an audience through consistent, honest content, and that trust transfers naturally to the products they recommend,” he said.

Highlighting the platform’s evolution, he added, “We are building YouTube Shopping to make it easier for viewers to find products their trusted creators recommend.” He also noted that the initiative has already onboarded more than half a million creators and expanded into markets such as Japan through a partnership with Rakuten.

Rastogi underscored the importance of creator-led ecosystems in shaping the future of digital commerce. “The most successful shopping trends on YouTube are driven by creators, content, and communities working together,” he said.

With over a decade at Google, Rastogi has held several leadership roles across marketing functions in India and the Asia Pacific region. Prior to this elevation, he served as Director of Marketing for YouTube Asia Pacific and also worked as Group Product Marketing Manager for consumer applications. During his tenure, he contributed to the growth of key products such as YouTube Music and YouTube Shorts, in addition to working on platforms like Search and Maps.

Before joining Google, he gained consulting experience at Boston Consulting Group, Kearney, and Evalueserve. Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Rastogi is also an active angel investor and a member of XA Network, with investments spanning consumer technology and electric vehicle startups.

His elevation comes at a time when YouTube is increasingly focusing on blending content and commerce, positioning creators at the center of its global shopping strategy.
