
Granules India Limited has named Karthick Raja S as its new Chief Information and Digital Officer (CIDO), a move aimed at accelerating the company’s technology and digital transformation agenda to support its global growth ambitions. In this strategic leadership role, Karthick will focus on advancing innovation, data-driven decision-making, operational efficiency, and strengthening Granules India’s digital ecosystem to enhance competitiveness in the global pharmaceutical market.
With over 16 years of cross-industry experience across automobiles, pharmaceuticals, metals & mining, energy, and building materials, Karthick brings deep expertise in IT leadership, enterprise technology, and digital transformation. His mandate at Granules India includes spearheading AI-driven enterprise architecture, SAP S4 Hana migrations, and IT integrations for mergers and acquisitions, all of which are critical to scaling the company’s operations globally.
Prior to joining Granules India, Karthick served as Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Exide Energy Solutions Ltd, where he was instrumental in designing the technology strategy for the company’s lithium-ion cell manufacturing business. He also held CIO roles at Orient Cement Ltd (CK Birla Group) and Baxter International Inc., where he led large-scale digital initiatives, strengthened cybersecurity frameworks, and drove enterprise-wide transformation projects.
Karthick’s early career at Maruti Suzuki India Limited and Vedanta Group saw him leading global IT rollouts, infrastructure modernization programs, and digital factory implementations, building a strong foundation in large-scale technology execution. His work has earned him industry-wide recognition, including being named among the Top 100 CIOs and CISOs in India and receiving multiple awards such as the CIO 100 Game Changer Award (2023), CIO Powerlist Cloud Icon (2023), and CIO 100 Progressive Leader Award (2024).
At Granules India, Karthick’s leadership is expected to play a key role in creating a future-ready technology backbone that supports growth, enhances productivity, and positions the company as a digitally empowered pharmaceutical leader.
