HCLTech has announced a strategic partnership with French chipmaker Dolphin Semiconductor to co-develop a new generation of energy-efficient chips tailored for IoT devices and data centre environments. Central to the collaboration is the integration of Dolphin Semiconductor’s low-power IP into HCLTech’s SoC design workflows, a move aimed at delivering scalable, high-efficiency semiconductor solutions. As global enterprises face mounting energy costs, increasingly complex connected ecosystems, and rising sustainability expectations, the joint effort seeks to provide chips capable of meeting these evolving demands.
Highlighting the potential of the collaboration, Pierre-Marie DELL’ACCIO of Dolphin Semiconductor stated that the partnership will enable the company to broaden its technology’s impact. He noted they “will be able to extend the reach of our low-power IP to more applications and customers than ever before,” adding that the joint development efforts will help push the boundaries of energy efficient computing across IoT and data centre ecosystems. The partnership underscores Dolphin’s ambitions to embed its low-power capabilities into a wider market at a time when efficiency is becoming a primary differentiator.
From HCLTech’s perspective, the collaboration builds on its expanding semiconductor innovation agenda. Hari Sadarahalli of HCLTech emphasized the shift in global computing needs, stating, “As AI workloads surge, data grows exponentially, and sustainability becomes a top priority, our collaboration with Dolphin Semiconductor will empower our clients to lead with agility, high performance and a strong commitment to environmental responsibility.” His remarks signal how the company views this partnership as a critical step in supporting clients navigating the rapid convergence of AI, data growth, and sustainability imperatives.
This alliance also complements HCLTech’s broader semiconductor strategy, following recent partnerships with AMD, Arm, and CAST. By combining HCLTech’s engineering expertise with Dolphin’s specialization in ultra-low-power IP, the two companies aim to build high-performance systems that maintain energy efficiency across diverse and demanding workloads—from hyperscale data centres to edge compute environments to the rapidly expanding network of connected IoT devices.
Together, the companies intend to accelerate innovation at the intersection of performance and efficiency, aligning with the global push toward sustainable, intelligent, and scalable semiconductor solutions.
