HDFC Bank Limited has approved a major leadership elevation, appointing Anil Bhavnani as the Group Head of the Transportation & Infrastructure Finance Group, effective December 1, 2025. The decision—endorsed by the Board of Directors and recommended by the Governance, Nomination and Remuneration Committee—highlights the Bank’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its leadership across critical business divisions.
Bhavnani brings over three decades of extensive banking experience, spanning Retail Banking, SME Banking, Corporate Banking, Credit, and Liabilities. Since joining HDFC Bank in 2003, he has been entrusted with several high-impact leadership roles, making him one of the few senior executives to have served across nearly all major operational and business verticals. His diverse exposure allows him to bring a comprehensive understanding of the Bank’s strategic priorities and internal ecosystem.
Over the years, Bhavnani has been instrumental in building and scaling several business functions, with a proven ability to balance growth, risk, and operational excellence. His leadership approach is shaped by his hands-on experience in managing lending portfolios, driving liability growth, strengthening credit processes, and enhancing customer-centric banking models.
In his new role, he will oversee a business that is central to India’s development agenda—transportation, logistics, and infrastructure financing. As these sectors expand rapidly, banks are expected to deliver structured, sustainable financial solutions that align with long-term national priorities. Bhavnani’s depth of experience positions him strongly to steer this division and unlock new opportunities in high-impact segments.
HDFC Bank noted that this elevation underscores its ongoing commitment to nurturing internal leadership talent and ensuring continuity in key business areas. The Bank emphasized that such strategic appointments support organizational depth, strengthen governance, and reinforce its ability to scale operations across rapidly growing sectors.
