Hind Rectifiers Appoints Chidambaram Balakrishnan as Chief Global Growth Officer

Hind Rectifiers Limited (HIRECT) has appointed Chidambaram Balakrishnan as its Chief Global Growth Officer, reinforcing its strategic focus on expanding its presence across international markets.

In this role, Balakrishnan will lead the company’s global growth agenda, with a mandate to scale its international footprint, deepen strategic partnerships, and identify new avenues for business expansion across key geographies. He will play a central role in shaping long-term growth strategy and driving sustainable value creation for the organization.

Balakrishnan brings over three decades of experience spanning global business development, market expansion, and revenue growth. His career includes senior leadership roles such as Managing Director at Caterpillar Rail and Regional Director (South Asia) at GE Transportation, where he contributed to scaling operations and strengthening market presence across regions.

In addition to his corporate experience, he has been actively involved in industry bodies, having served as Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (Railway Division) and Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in India (Infrastructure Division). He is recognized for driving business transformation, identifying emerging opportunities, and building strong ecosystems of customers and partners to enable long-term growth.

The appointment is part of HIRECT’s broader strategy to build a globally aligned leadership team. Alongside this move, the company has also named Douglas J. Bailey as Global Chief Executive Officer to lead its international expansion efforts.

With global demand rising in sectors such as railways, transportation, and industrial systems, HIRECT is positioning itself to capture new opportunities by strengthening leadership, enhancing agility, and scaling its operations across key markets worldwide.
