
Ibotombi Singh Longjam has been elevated to Managing Director | Site Head, Risk – India GCC | Head, Model Risk Management India at Citi, marking a significant leadership milestone in his nearly 13-year journey with the organisation.
Based in Mumbai, he will oversee integrated risk functions—including model risk, credit risk, enterprise risk, and data risk—across Citi’s five Global Capability Center (GCC) sites in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, and Gurugram.
In this expanded role, Ibotombi will lead large-scale risk operations and talent development initiatives while driving AI infrastructure capabilities amid rapid GCC expansion. He will continue to provide strategic leadership to a team of over 160 subject matter experts responsible for validating critical models across CCAR, AI/ML, and market risk domains.
With over 23 years of experience in financial risk management and decision science, Ibotombi brings deep expertise in regulatory compliance, advanced analytics, and large-scale team leadership. At Citi, he has held several senior roles, progressing from Vice President in Global Modeling Oversight to Director, Senior Vice President, and Managing Director – Head of Model Risk Management India.
Prior to joining Citi, he spent nearly a decade at American Express, where he played a key role in developing validation frameworks for machine learning techniques and led global initiatives in bureau variable standardisation.
His elevation reflects Citi’s continued focus on strengthening its risk management capabilities in India while scaling its Global Capability Centers as strategic hubs for analytics, regulatory excellence, and innovation.
