XTEND, an Israel-based AI robotics firm, has signed an $11 million manufacturing and distribution agreement with Rayonix Tech to produce unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in India. The partnership marks a significant step in expanding XTEND’s AI-powered autonomy platform, XOS, into the Indian market.
Under the agreement, Rayonix Tech will act as XTEND’s exclusive partner in India, establishing local capabilities for manufacturing, testing, and distribution of AI-enabled drone systems. The move aligns with India’s increasing emphasis on domestic defence production and the development of advanced unmanned technologies.
At the core of the collaboration is XTEND’s XOS operating system, which will serve as the software backbone for the UAVs manufactured in India. The platform enables human-guided autonomy across multi-domain robotic systems, integrating AI-driven navigation, mission planning, and real-time operational control to enhance the performance and adaptability of unmanned systems.
The deal is part of XTEND’s broader strategy to scale its software-defined autonomy ecosystem by building regional manufacturing partnerships. This approach allows for localized production and deployment while maintaining a unified and consistent software architecture globally.
XTEND has previously demonstrated its capabilities in the defence sector, having secured a contract to supply 5,000 assault drones to the Israeli army last year, further underscoring its growing presence in AI-driven unmanned systems.
