Israeli Startup Conntour Secures $7 Million Seed Funding to Transform AI-Powered Video Surveillance

Israeli artificial intelligence startup Conntour has raised $7 million in a seed funding round aimed at advancing its AI-driven video intelligence platform. The funding round was led by General Catalyst, with participation from Y Combinator, SV Angel, and Liquid 2 Ventures, reflecting strong investor confidence in the company’s approach to modernizing surveillance systems.

Founded in 2024 and headquartered in Tel Aviv, Conntour is developing a platform that enables security teams to analyse video footage using natural language queries. Unlike traditional surveillance systems that rely on predefined rules or parameters, the company’s technology allows users to search for specific people, objects, or events simply by describing them in everyday language.

The platform is designed to process both live and recorded video feeds, offering real-time monitoring as well as retrospective analysis. By leveraging advanced computer vision and vision-language models, the system can identify complex scenarios, such as interactions between individuals or unusual patterns of behavior, significantly reducing the time required to investigate incidents.

Conntour’s technology addresses a major limitation in conventional surveillance systems, which typically require operators to define what they are looking for in advance. The company’s approach introduces greater flexibility, enabling security personnel to respond dynamically to evolving situations and uncover insights that may otherwise go unnoticed.

The startup has already begun working with large organizations and government agencies, including deployments in high-security environments such as Singapore’s Central Narcotics Bureau. This early traction has helped validate the platform’s real-world applicability and contributed to investor interest in the seed round.

With the new funding, Conntour plans to accelerate product development, expand its capabilities, and scale its operations globally. As demand for intelligent surveillance solutions continues to grow, the company aims to position itself at the forefront of AI-driven security technology while navigating ongoing debates around privacy and ethical use.
