Jeppesen ForeFlight Appoints Ron Wood as Chief Information Security Officer

Jeppesen ForeFlight has announced the elevation of Ron Wood to Chief Information Security Officer, recognizing his contributions to strengthening cybersecurity, risk management, and enterprise security strategy across the company’s global SaaS platforms. In this expanded leadership role, Wood will lead organization-wide security transformation initiatives while supporting secure innovation across Jeppesen ForeFlight’s aviation technology ecosystem. As Chief Information Security Officer, Wood is responsible for advancing data protection, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience as the company continues to evolve its aviation software offerings. His role includes overseeing complex security programs that support both platform scalability and the rigorous safety and reliability standards required within the aviation industry.

Wood joined Jeppesen ForeFlight in 2022 as Director of Cyber Security, where he led significant initiatives aligned with ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type 2, IRAP, and FedRAMP readiness. During this period, he strengthened cloud security architecture, expanded compliance frameworks, and enhanced security governance for aviation solutions used by pilots, flight departments, and operators worldwide. In addition to compliance leadership, Wood has been guiding a multi-stream security transformation supporting a carve-out from a Fortune 50 parent company while simultaneously integrating two global SaaS platforms. This work has focused on unifying product security, data protection, and operational security processes to ensure consistent, scalable protection across the enterprise.

Prior to joining Jeppesen ForeFlight, Wood held senior security leadership and consulting roles across multiple organizations, building deep expertise in governance, risk, and compliance within highly regulated environments. His previous experience includes serving as an Information Security Consultant at Altais, where he supported healthcare technology platforms in meeting HIPAA and SOC 2 requirements, as well as an Interim Chief Information Security Officer role focused on implementing AWS security controls to protect sensitive healthcare information. Wood’s background also includes leadership and consulting roles at Coalfire, Accenture, and Arsenal Security Group, where he delivered secure transformation programs, advised on enterprise risk management, and supported regulatory compliance initiatives across industries including healthcare, technology, and financial services.

As Chief Information Security Officer, Wood will continue to oversee information security operations, IT security strategy, and enterprise risk management for Jeppesen ForeFlight, ensuring that cybersecurity remains a foundational element of the company’s technology roadmap. His elevation reflects Jeppesen ForeFlight’s ongoing commitment to cybersecurity excellence, regulatory rigor, and innovation as it delivers trusted aviation solutions to customers worldwide.
