Jins Varghese has been appointed as Global Chief Information Officer at Blackboard, marking a significant step in his technology leadership career. In this role, he will oversee the company’s enterprise technology strategy and global IT operations while driving large-scale transformation initiatives across cloud, data, security and business platforms.
Based in the Greater Bengaluru Area, Varghese will focus on advancing the organisation’s technology capabilities while accelerating AI-driven innovation to improve operational efficiency and strengthen customer experience. His mandate includes modernising enterprise systems, enhancing digital platforms and aligning technology initiatives with the company’s next phase of growth.
Sharing the update, Varghese said, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Global Chief Information Officer at Blackboard where I will continue leading enterprise technology while driving our transformation into a more focused, AI-powered organization aligned for the next phase of growth and innovation.”
Before joining Blackboard, Varghese served as Chief Information Officer at Anthology Inc from December 2021 to March 2026. During this time, he led global IT transformation initiatives and also headed the company’s India Global Capability Center, helping scale innovation, strengthen governance frameworks and align technology strategy with broader business outcomes. Prior to this role, he served as Vice President – Global IT at Anthology Inc between July 2020 and December 2021, where he focused on enterprise technology transformation and software development initiatives.
Earlier in his career, Varghese spent more than a decade with Campus Management Corp., where he held several senior leadership roles including Vice President – Information Technology and Senior Director – Strategic Initiatives. In these roles, he played an important role in transforming the organisation’s IT environment, including integrating multiple SaaS companies into a unified technology ecosystem.
He also gained experience earlier in his career with Tesco, further strengthening his expertise in enterprise technology delivery and digital operations.
With extensive experience spanning IT infrastructure, enterprise applications such as ERP and CRM, cloud platforms, data architecture and cybersecurity, Varghese brings deep expertise in driving digital transformation across complex global SaaS environments. In his new role at Blackboard, he will focus on strengthening enterprise technology capabilities while supporting the company’s transition toward a more AI-powered and innovation-driven organisation.
