KEC International has secured its largest-ever order in India for its transmission and distribution (T&D) business, underscoring strong momentum in domestic infrastructure and energy projects. According to an exchange filing, the order has been awarded by a reputed private sector player.
The contract involves the execution of a 765 kV transmission line along with a 765/400 kV air-insulated substation (AIS), to be delivered on a lump-sum turnkey (LSTK) basis. The project is focused on strengthening evacuation infrastructure for renewable energy, a key priority area as India scales up clean power capacity.
In addition to the T&D win, the company’s civil business has secured a separate order from a prominent private player for civil and structural works at a 150 MW thermal power plant. This order further expands KEC International’s footprint in the thermal power segment.
Commenting on the developments, Vimal Kejriwal, MD & CEO, KEC International, said, “We are delighted with these order wins in India, particularly the significant composite order secured by our India T&D business for the evacuation of renewable energy. This order has substantially increased the share of private sector clients in our India T&D order book. The Civil business has increased its presence in the growing thermal power plant segment. With these wins, our YTD order intake has crossed Rs 18,000 crore, reaffirming our confidence in achieving our annual order intake target.”
KEC International operates as a global EPC player with a diversified presence across power transmission and distribution, civil infrastructure, transportation, renewables, oil and gas pipelines, and cables.
The strong order inflows are reflected in the company’s financial performance. In Q2 FY26, KEC International reported an 88.21 per cent year-on-year jump in consolidated net profit to ₹160.75 crore. Revenue from operations rose 19.13 per cent to ₹6,091.56 crore during the quarter. On a year-to-date basis, the company’s order intake has crossed ₹17,000 crore, marking an increase of around 17 per cent compared to the same period last year.
The latest wins reinforce KEC International’s position as a key beneficiary of India’s accelerating investment in power infrastructure, renewable energy evacuation, and large-scale EPC projects.
