Kotak Life has announced the appointment of Sourabh Chatterjee as its Chief Technology and Digital Transformation Officer, strengthening the insurer’s leadership as it accelerates its digital and technology-led growth agenda. With more than 26 years of global experience across the United States, India, and Singapore, Chatterjee brings deep expertise in building large-scale, customer-centric digital platforms across life, general, and health insurance. In his new role, he will drive Kotak Life’s technology roadmap, modernize digital capabilities, and support long-term innovation aligned with evolving customer expectations.
Chatterjee joins Kotak Life following his tenure as Group Chief Technology Officer at OONA Insurance, where he led enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives across multiple Southeast Asian markets. At OONA, he played a pivotal role in designing and launching a multi-country “Insurance as a Service” platform, enabling scalable, modular insurance operations across geographies. The platform was backed by Warburg Pincus LLC and supported OONA’s rapid regional expansion, underscoring Chatterjee’s strength in building future-ready digital architectures for high-growth insurance businesses.
Earlier in his career, Chatterjee held senior leadership roles at Bajaj General Insurance, where he was responsible for technology, digital sales, and marketing transformation. During this phase, he helped integrate digital distribution channels, modernize core systems, and enhance customer engagement journeys. In addition to his executive responsibilities, he also served on the board of Bajaj Markets, gaining valuable exposure to platform-led business models and digital ecosystems within the financial services space.
His professional journey also includes impactful stints at ICICI Lombard and Infosys Technologies, where he managed complex technology modernization programs and business transformation initiatives for global insurance clients. These experiences provided him with a strong foundation in large-scale systems integration, enterprise architecture, and cross-border program execution.
At Kotak Life, Chatterjee is expected to play a central role in advancing digital resilience, strengthening technology platforms, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. His appointment reflects the company’s focus on leveraging technology as a strategic enabler to deliver seamless customer experiences, improve operational agility, and support sustainable growth in an increasingly digital insurance landscape.
