MakeMyTrip Launches Global Tours and Attractions Platform to Simplify Experience Bookings for Indian Travellers

MakeMyTrip, India’s leading online travel services provider, has officially announced its entry into the global experiences market with the launch of a comprehensive Tours and Attractions booking platform. This new offering enables Indian travellers to discover, plan, and book over 200,000 curated experiences and activities across more than 1,100 cities in 130 countries worldwide.

The newly launched platform aims to streamline the often fragmented process of booking international experiences, which typically involves navigating through scattered websites, dealing with foreign currency transactions, and using disconnected planning tools. By consolidating all these elements into a single, user-friendly interface, MakeMyTrip is positioning itself to become a one-stop solution for global travel planning—not just for flights and accommodations, but also for meaningful and immersive on-ground experiences.

Speaking on the launch, Rajesh Magow, Co-founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of MakeMyTrip, said:

“Experiences and local activities constitute a significant portion of spending by Indian travellers when they go abroad. However, the process of discovering and booking these experiences remains one of the most unorganised and complex parts of international travel. Our goal is to simplify this journey—to make discovering and booking global attractions as seamless, convenient, and personalised as it is for booking flights, hotels, and ground transport.”

The Tours and Attractions platform offers a wide range of experiences, from visits to iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Disneyland, and Burj Khalifa in Dubai, to more immersive and culturally rich activities like desert safaris, helicopter rides over Hawaii’s Kauai Island, or an interactive sumo wrestling demonstration in Tokyo’s historic Asakusa district.

All bookings can be made directly in Indian Rupees (INR), removing currency-related friction for Indian travellers. Additionally, all booked activities are integrated into the ‘MyTrips’ section of the MakeMyTrip app, allowing users to manage their entire travel itinerary—flights, hotels, transport, and now local experiences—in one place.

The platform is powered by strategic partnerships with global experience aggregators and local operators, ensuring travellers get access to authentic, high-quality experiences at competitive prices.

This strategic move reinforces MakeMyTrip’s vision to deliver holistic and personalised travel experiences, especially as outbound travel from India continues to grow rapidly post-pandemic. With Indian travellers increasingly seeking convenience, safety, and curated adventures, this offering is expected to significantly enhance MakeMyTrip’s value proposition in the international travel market.
