HCL Technologies, one of India’s leading global technology companies, has announced the promotion of Mr. Manish Bahadur to the position of Senior Vice President. This marks a significant career milestone for Mr. Bahadur and underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening leadership across its global financial services operations.
In his new role, Mr. Bahadur will be responsible for driving end-to-end global operations across key verticals such as retail banking, commercial banking, and the rapidly expanding neo-banking ecosystem — which includes fully digital banks and fintech-driven financial institutions. He will also play a pivotal role in deploying Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve regulatory compliance, enhance operational efficiency, and deliver seamless customer experiences across international markets.
Mr. Bahadur has been associated with HCL Technologies for more than eleven years. Most recently, he served as Vice President – Global Operations, where he led numerous strategic initiatives aimed at business transformation. Among his notable contributions is the creation of a Centre of Excellence dedicated to Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) processes, as well as the implementation of AI-powered compliance solutions across multiple geographies. These efforts have significantly strengthened HCL Technologies’ delivery model and operational resilience within the financial services sector.
Prior to his tenure at HCL Technologies, Mr. Bahadur held the role of Vice President and Banking, Financial Services (BFS) Practice Head at a multinational technology firm, where he led large-scale transformation engagements for marquee clients, including a major financial institution in Africa. Earlier in his career, while working with a leading global bank, he was instrumental in setting up offshore back-office operations for retail banking and managing international private banking processes.
Mr. Bahadur’s professional journey also includes leadership positions at prominent financial institutions such as Genpact, Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI) Bank, Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India (ICICI) Bank, and Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) Bank. These roles gave him hands-on experience in banking operations, process excellence, regulatory compliance, and branch-level management.
With over twenty years of experience in the banking and financial services industry, Mr. Bahadur brings deep domain knowledge, strategic foresight, and a proven track record in operational leadership.
