Meta Appoints Aman Jain as Head of Public Policy for India to Strengthen Engagement Across Digital and AI Ecosystems

Meta has announced the appointment of Aman Jain as its new Head of Public Policy in India, a key leadership move as the company deepens its engagement with the country’s rapidly expanding digital economy. Jain is expected to join Meta early next year and will report to Simon Milner, Vice President of Policy for Asia Pacific. The appointment brings to Meta a seasoned policy professional with more than two decades of experience spanning global technology companies, public institutions, and international policy environments.

Jain’s professional background includes senior leadership roles at Amazon, Google, and the Government of India, giving him a well-rounded understanding of both regulatory frameworks and the operational realities of large-scale technology platforms. Prior to joining Meta, he served as Director of Public Policy at Amazon, where he worked closely with policymakers, regulators, and industry bodies on issues related to digital governance, e-commerce, and emerging technologies. Earlier in his career, he was Country Head for Government Affairs and Public Policy at Google India, where he played a central role in shaping the company’s policy engagement strategy in one of its most important global markets.

Welcoming Jain to the organization, Simon Milner underscored India’s growing importance to Meta’s global strategy. He said, “India is a strategic market for Meta. As the country’s digital economy accelerates across areas such as AI, emerging tech and the creator economy, Meta aims to help build a more inclusive, trusted, and future-ready internet ecosystem for India.” Milner added that Jain’s deep understanding of technology policy and regulatory processes would be instrumental in strengthening Meta’s collaboration with government stakeholders, industry partners, and civil society.

In his new role, Jain will be responsible for leading Meta’s public policy agenda in India, navigating complex regulatory landscapes, and supporting the company’s efforts across areas such as artificial intelligence, digital inclusion, platform governance, and creator-led innovation. His appointment also enhances Meta’s broader policy leadership across the Asia Pacific region, reinforcing the company’s focus on constructive engagement as digital regulation continues to evolve.

With India emerging as one of Meta’s largest and fastest-growing markets, Jain’s leadership is expected to play a crucial role in aligning the company’s policy priorities with national digital ambitions while fostering trust and transparency across the ecosystem.
