Bengaluru-based AI startup Metaforms has raised $9 million in a Series A funding round led by Peak XV Partners, with additional backing from Nexus Venture Partners and Together Fund. The capital infusion will support the company’s plans to scale its engineering and AI research team, deepen product integration, and expand into voice-based research and report generation.
Founded in 2022 by Akshat Tyagi and Arjun S, Metaforms is focused on building AI agents tailored for the market research industry. These agents help automate critical workflows—such as survey programming, data processing, and vendor coordination—allowing research firms to scale faster and reduce turnaround times without compromising quality.
“When research agencies grow, better business decisions get made,” said Akshat Tyagi, co-founder and CEO of Metaforms. “We’re not here to replace the humans in the loop. We’re here to give them leverage.”
With the fresh funds, Metaforms plans to triple its Bengaluru-based AI and engineering team, and integrate more seamlessly with popular industry tools like Decipher, SPSS, and Confirmit. The company also plans to launch voice-based research capabilities and expand its reporting automation features.
Since launching commercially, Metaforms claims to have already onboarded four of the top 20 global research agencies, including Strat7, and currently processes over 1,000 surveys each month. The startup aims to scale that figure to over 100,000 surveys annually over the coming years.
The funding marks a significant step in Metaforms’ journey to modernize the global market research industry with AI-first solutions—focusing not on replacing human analysts, but augmenting their capabilities to deliver faster, smarter, and more scalable insights.
