Starting this week, Microsoft is rolling out Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26120.3964 to the Beta Channel, officially introducing the 24H2 version. This latest update brings multiple bug fixes along with fresh AI-powered enhancements aimed at streamlining user interactions.
A key highlight is the integration of an AI-driven assistant within the Settings app, announced earlier this month. Unlike traditional keyword-based searches, this intelligent assistant allows users to describe tasks using natural language. For example, users can now ask for help with phrases like “how to control my PC by voice” or “my mouse pointer is too small.”
Currently, this AI functionality is exclusive to Copilot+ PCs powered by Snapdragon processors, and only when English is the system’s primary language. Support for Intel and AMD-based systems is expected in upcoming updates.
In addition, Microsoft has introduced a new FAQ section under the System > About page, offering users quick access to information about system performance, configuration, and compatibility.
Another upgraded AI feature, “Click To Do,” now allows users on AMD and Intel-based Copilot+ PCs to select a block of text (minimum 10 words) and trigger smart actions like Summarize, Rewrite, or Create bulleted lists using shortcuts such as Win + Mouse Click or Win + Q. These features are powered by Phi Silica, Microsoft’s on-device small language model.
However, some functions—such as Rewrite—are temporarily unavailable for users with French or Spanish set as their primary system language, though Microsoft promises support will return in a future release.
With this build, Microsoft continues its push to integrate on-device AI tools into the Windows ecosystem, signaling a more intuitive and responsive user experience for Windows 11 going forward.
