In a significant move toward building green digital infrastructure, the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd (MPSEDC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Spain-based Submer Technologies to develop up to 1 gigawatt of AI-optimized data centre capacity across the state.
The ambitious project will integrate Submer’s next-generation immersion cooling and direct-to-chip technologies, aimed at drastically reducing electricity use, water consumption, and environmental footprint.
The agreement follows a recent visit by a high-level Madhya Pradesh delegation to Submer’s Innovation Centre in Barcelona on July 17, 2025. Speaking about the collaboration, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said, “This partnership reflects our vision for sustainable technology, job creation, and positioning Madhya Pradesh as a preferred destination for global innovation.”
Under the agreement, the state government will provide support in the form of land allocation, regulatory approvals, and investment incentives, while Submer will contribute its global expertise in infrastructure design, technical training, and operational capabilities. The company’s technologies have already enabled global savings of 600 GWh of electricity and over 3 billion liters of water.
Sanjay Dubey, Chief Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of MP, emphasized the broader impact, stating, “This MoU marks the beginning of a robust partnership that will catalyze local employment, skill development, and innovation.”
A delegation from Submer Technologies is expected to visit Madhya Pradesh later this month to explore potential project locations and engage with local stakeholders.
This initiative positions Madhya Pradesh as a forward-looking state in India’s digital transformation journey—blending innovation, sustainability, and economic development.
