MUFG has appointed Vandana Sukhija as Assistant Vice President, marking a significant step forward in her career in risk analytics and financial services.
In her new role, she will contribute to strengthening risk evaluation frameworks, supporting data-driven decision-making, and ensuring the robustness of credit risk models within complex banking environments. Her responsibilities will include assessing portfolio risk, enhancing model validation processes, and aligning analytics with evolving regulatory requirements.
Vandana brings strong expertise in credit risk modeling, validation, and regulatory frameworks, with a focus on ensuring model accuracy and reliability across diverse portfolios. Her experience spans Probability of Default (PD) and Loss Given Default (LGD) modeling, along with advanced analytical techniques used to evaluate risk exposure.
Prior to joining MUFG, she worked as Senior Associate at PwC, where she was involved in validating credit risk models, including CRE PD scorecards. Her work included ensuring data quality, assessing conceptual soundness, and performing analytical testing to evaluate model performance and stability.
Earlier, she spent over three years at Moody’s Analytics, where she held roles as Risk Consulting Associate and Assistant Risk Consulting Associate. During this time, she developed and implemented credit risk models using regression and optimization techniques, particularly for low-default portfolios, while also performing model validation to assess potential risk exposure.
Her experience also includes working with key regulatory and accounting frameworks such as CECL and IFRS 9, along with exposure to AML model validation and analytics automation. This combination of technical and regulatory expertise positions her strongly in the evolving landscape of financial risk management.
With her appointment, MUFG continues to strengthen its risk analytics capabilities, aligning with the growing importance of robust data-driven frameworks in modern banking and financial services.
