Mukesh Ambani has rolled out the Reliance AI Manifesto, a group-wide strategic blueprint aimed at embedding artificial intelligence deeply across Reliance Industries’ businesses to make work faster, sharper, and more impactful. The initiative is designed to reduce friction, eliminate repetitive tasks, and enhance decision-making at scale, while encouraging employees across the organisation to actively identify areas where AI can deliver meaningful, measurable impact.
In a message outlining the vision, Ambani positioned AI as the next major transformation for the conglomerate, building on its role in India’s digital revolution. He wrote: “At Reliance, we have embarked on a path to transform ourselves into an Al-native deep-tech company with advanced manufacturing capabilities. We led the digital revolution in India. It has laid the foundation for the next revolution, the Al revolution. Our motto is clear: “Affordable Al for every Indian, to transform every aspect of the economy and life in India.” This is the resolve of Reliance.”
The manifesto lays out a structured approach to execution, with teams organised around outcomes, workflows, platforms, and governance rather than traditional hierarchies. Cross-functional “pods” will be formed to improve critical processes across businesses, ensuring AI adoption is closely tied to real operational and business outcomes rather than experimentation in isolation.
Ambani has also invited leaders and teams across the group to respond to ten guiding questions focused on how AI can power different parts of the Reliance ecosystem. These span core businesses such as Jio and Retail, as well as emerging and future-facing areas including green energy, life sciences, financial services, and advanced manufacturing. The intent is to crowdsource practical, high-impact AI use cases from within the organisation, tapping into domain expertise across sectors.
Highlighting long-term opportunities, Ambani pointed to the potential within Reliance Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd., robotic systems, and AI hardware, signalling that the company’s ambitions extend beyond software into deep tech and physical infrastructure. The manifesto positions AI not as a standalone function, but as a foundational capability that cuts across technology, operations, and strategy.
By launching the AI Manifesto, Reliance is signalling a decisive shift toward becoming an AI-native enterprise. The initiative reflects Ambani’s broader ambition to align Reliance’s scale and digital strengths with the coming AI wave, positioning the group to play a central role in shaping an AI-transformed India while keeping affordability and inclusion at the core of its strategy.
