
Nitesh Ranjan Prasad has announced his transition to the role of Head – Information Security Governance & Technology Risk.
Sharing the update on LinkedIn, he said, “I’m pleased to share my transition to Head – Information Security Governance & Technology Risk.”
Over the past few years, he served as Senior Vice President & Head – Operational Risk, Digital Risk, Outsourcing Risk, Technology Risk, Business Continuity Planning, and Product Process Approval Management. During this period, he led efforts to strengthen enterprise non-financial risk governance and resilience frameworks across the organisation.
Reflecting on the evolving landscape, he noted, “As digital acceleration intensifies and cyber threats evolve, focused security governance is no longer optional — it is foundational to trust and stability.”
In his new role, his focus areas will include:
• Elevating enterprise Information Security governance
• Strengthening cyber resilience and technology risk oversight
• Enhancing regulatory alignment and board-level visibility
• Embedding security by design across digital initiatives
He further emphasised, “Cyber resilience is now a strategic business imperative — not just a control function. Looking forward to driving the next phase of governance maturity.”
Prasad has been associated with Axis Bank since December 2020 and is currently based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Prior to this transition, he served as Head – Operational Risk at the bank.
Before joining Axis Bank, he spent over four years at HDFC Bank in multiple leadership roles, including Senior Vice President and Head, Outsourcing Risk Management; Vice President and Head, Outsourcing Risk; and Vice President and Head, Outsourcing Risk Management. Earlier in his career at HDFC Bank, he served for nine years, including as Deputy Vice President in the Operational Risk Management Department for Wholesale Banking and Treasury.
