NPrep Raises $1.5M Seed Round Led by Lumikai to Build AI Skilling Platform for Nurses

NPrep, a placement-focused startup building an AI-powered skilling platform for nursing students and professionals, has raised $1.5 million in a seed funding round led by Lumikai.

The round also saw participation from existing investor All In Capital, along with Velo Partners, DSP Group Family Office, and angel investors including Viren Shetty.

The Jodhpur-based startup had earlier raised an undisclosed pre-seed round led by All In Capital with participation from IIMA Ventures, Aayush Phumbhra, founder of Chegg, and several family offices and angel investors.

Founded in 2024 by Prince Kaushik, Utkarsh Paliwal and Gourav Khurana—all alumni of AIIMS Jodhpur—NPrep aims to address barriers faced by nursing students, particularly from tier II and tier III cities, through an AI-powered skilling and placement platform tailored for the healthcare workforce.

According to the company, the platform addresses gaps in nursing education by offering more than 1,400 hours of exam-aligned video content, personalised study plans, an AI mentor, and curated questions derived from historical exam data. These tools are designed to improve exam outcomes and help candidates access government jobs and global healthcare opportunities.

Within ten months of launch, NPrep said over 100,000 nurses across India are already using the platform. During this period, users have consumed more than six million minutes of video content and answered around 31 million questions.

The fresh capital will be used to strengthen NPrep’s AI-powered learning platform, expand exam-focused content and scale access for nursing candidates preparing for government and international healthcare roles.

Commenting on the investment, Niyaz Laiq, Partner at Lumikai, said the company fits the firm’s thesis of backing interactive learning platforms that combine AI-driven personalisation with outcome-based learning.

India has one of the world’s largest nursing workforces, with around 3.2 million registered nurses and midwives and over 250,000 new graduates entering the workforce each year. Additionally, about 800,000 candidates appear annually for competitive government nursing entrance exams.

NPrep said its platform aims to help nurses access higher-paying roles in government and private hospitals in India and abroad, where salaries can range from ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh per month.

Prince Kaushik, co-founder and CEO of NPrep, said the new funding will help the company deepen its AI capabilities and scale access to personalised learning for nurses preparing for career advancement opportunities globally.
