Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the News 9 Global Summit in Stuttgart, Germany, via video conference, heralding a new chapter in the Indo-German Strategic Partnership. Reflecting on the summit’s theme, “India-Germany: A Roadmap for Sustainable Growth,” the Prime Minister underscored the significance of collaboration between two dynamic nations, marking 2024 as a landmark year—the 25th anniversary of their strategic partnership.

PM Modi highlighted the deep-rooted connections between India and Germany, tracing centuries of cultural and intellectual exchange. He noted milestones such as Germany’s pioneering work in Sanskrit grammar and the introduction of Tamil and Telugu printing to Europe. Today, these ties are reflected in thriving bilateral trade, robust investments of $15 billion by over 1,800 German companies in India, and a vibrant Indian diaspora of nearly 300,000 in Germany.

The Prime Minister emphasized India’s position as the world’s fastest-growing large economy, showcasing its transformation into a global manufacturing hub under initiatives like “Make in India.” With significant achievements in mobile and electronics manufacturing, two-wheeler production, and advancements in the semiconductor industry, India offers unparalleled opportunities for German companies. Highlighting Germany’s “Focus on India” strategy and its first “Skilled Labor Strategy” tailored for India, PM Modi called for greater investment and collaboration, leveraging India’s dynamism with Germany’s precision and engineering expertise.

PM Modi lauded India’s advancements in digital, social, and physical infrastructure, noting the transformative impact of its unique digital public platforms. Reforms such as GST, reduced compliance burdens, and improved business governance have created a stable, investor-friendly environment.

Concluding his address, PM Modi invited global participation in India’s growth journey, emphasizing the timeless Indian ethos of welcoming partnerships. He reiterated the potential of an Indo-German alliance to build a sustainable and prosperous global future, driven by innovation, precision, and shared values.
