Polycab India Appoints Gyan Pandey as Chief Digital & Information Officer

Polycab India Limited has announced the appointment of Mr. Gyan Pandey as Executive President and Chief Digital & Information Officer, effective February 16, 2026. The company formally communicated the development to stock exchanges under Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, marking a significant addition to its senior leadership team.

Mr. Pandey joins the organization in a full-time capacity and will take charge of the company’s digital, information technology, and cybersecurity functions. The move reflects Polycab’s sharpened focus on strengthening its digital backbone and building technology-driven capabilities to support long-term growth.

In his new role, he will spearhead the company’s digital and information strategy, accelerating enterprise-wide transformation, strengthening data governance, and driving AI-led innovation to enable scalable and future-ready operations. His mandate includes embedding advanced technologies across business functions and reinforcing the company’s digital infrastructure to support operational excellence.

Prior to joining Polycab, Mr. Pandey served as Chief Digital Officer at Voltas Limited – A TATA Enterprise, where he led large-scale digital transformation initiatives and championed a “Digital First” agenda across business units. Earlier, he was Global & Group CIO at AUROBINDO PHARMA LTD, overseeing global IT operations across 16 countries and building a shared services model to support digital innovation.

Over the course of a career spanning more than two and a half decades, he has also held leadership roles at QAPCO – Qatar Petrochemical Company, Oracle, Genpact, and Panasonic. Across these assignments, he built deep expertise in enterprise digital strategy, IoT-led manufacturing, data platforms, scalable AI and GenAI adoption, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, and global IT strategy.

Pandey, 57, holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) from the University of Calcutta and has completed management certifications from IIM-Bangalore and IIM-Calcutta. With over 25 years of experience in information technology leadership, he brings extensive cross-industry exposure and a track record of executing complex transformation programs across geographies.

The leadership announcement comes at a time when Polycab is reporting strong financial performance. For the third quarter of FY26, revenue from operations climbed 46% year-on-year and 18% sequentially to Rs 7,636.1 crore. The growth was largely supported by solid momentum in the Wires & Cables (W&C) and Fast-Moving Electrical Goods (FMEG) segments.

The W&C business recorded a robust 53% year-on-year growth, driven by sustained domestic demand and favorable commodity price trends. The FMEG segment posted 17% growth during the same period. Meanwhile, the EPC segment delivered revenues of Rs 406.9 crore, reflecting a 4% year-on-year increase.

On the profitability front, profit before tax rose 37% year-on-year to Rs 842 crore, although it declined 9% sequentially. EBITDA increased 34% year-on-year to Rs 966 crore, while margins moderated to 12.7% compared with 15.8% in the previous quarter.

With this leadership appointment, Polycab appears to be aligning its digital ambitions with its strong operational momentum, positioning itself for the next phase of technology-enabled growth.
