Prashant Chauhan Elevated to CIO at Tata Capital Housing Finance Limited

Prashant Chauhan has been appointed as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Tata Capital Housing Finance Limited (TCHFL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Capital Ltd – Cleantech Finance. This appointment marks a pivotal milestone in his extensive career within the Tata Group, where he has contributed significantly since 2015.

“Prashant Chauhan has been appointed as the new Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Tata Capital Housing Finance Limited (TCHFL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Capital Ltd – Cleantech Finance.”

Previously serving as Deputy Vice President at Tata Capital, Chauhan was responsible for leading technology initiatives across the home loans and corporate services verticals. His efforts focused on digital transformation, fintech integration, and strategic architectural design. He also played a key role in creating business platforms and aligning tech with financial products tailored to emerging needs.

“In that role, Chauhan led technology strategy, digital transformation, and business platforms for home loans and corporate services, while spearheading fintech initiatives and architectural design.”

His promotion to CIO was recently confirmed via a LinkedIn update, recognizing his leadership and sustained contributions to Tata Capital’s tech-driven growth.

Chauhan’s professional journey also includes prior experience at Reliance Capital | Reliance Group. Additionally, he founded a venture called Weekend Breakfast, showcasing his entrepreneurial mindset. He has built a strong reputation for championing digital lending solutions, particularly for underserved segments such as MSMEs.

“In his profile, Chauhan highlights his leadership in digital lending implementation and architecture design, along with his active involvement in building inclusive solutions for underbanked MSMEs.”

Beyond corporate roles, he is actively contributing to several government-led digital finance initiatives like GeM Sahay and GST Sahay, both designed to facilitate instant, collateral-free loans for MSMEs through the GeM portal.

“He is currently contributing to key government-backed digital initiatives such as GeM Sahay and GST Sahay, aimed at easing access to collateral-free, instant loans for MSMEs via the GeM portal.”

Chauhan’s domain expertise includes digital strategy, fintech collaboration, Open Credit Enablement Network (OCEN), Account Aggregator (AA) framework, CRM, and market research. His elevation to CIO is expected to further drive innovation and strengthen the tech capabilities of Tata Capital Housing Finance.
