Bengaluru-based quantum security startup QNu Labs has announced the launch of QNu Academy, a global educational initiative aimed at addressing the talent shortage in quantum technologies and cybersecurity. The program is strategically aligned with the Indian government’s National Quantum Mission (NQM) and seeks to create a future-ready quantum-skilled workforce.
QNu Academy is designed to equip students, faculty, and academic institutions with hands-on knowledge in quantum key distribution (QKD), quantum random number generation (QRNG), and post-quantum cryptography (PQC). The curriculum integrates real-world use cases, hands-on labs, and industry-focused learning modules.
“QNu Academy is more than an educational platform. It is a national mission to democratise access to quantum education and build widespread awareness around quantum communications,” said Sunil Gupta, Co-founder and CEO of QNu Labs.
The academy will partner with leading Indian institutions such as the IITs, DRDO, and international research organizations to develop centres of excellence. It will offer certified courses, placement assistance, and faculty development programs to build academic and industry synergy in quantum research and application.
The initiative is backed by ₹60 crore in Series A funding, led by the National Quantum Mission and private investors including Lucky Investment, Speciale Invest, Tenacity Ventures, and Singularity AMC.
Positioning the academy as a long-term investment in India’s cybersecurity preparedness, Gupta added:
“The future of cybersecurity in India depends on how well we prepare today’s learners to tackle tomorrow’s threats.”
With the rapid rise of quantum computing and the looming threat it poses to conventional encryption, QNu Labs aims to position QNu Academy as a strategic national asset, helping to bridge the talent gap while enhancing the country’s digital and data security resilience.
