Raphe mPhibr, a Noida-based aerospace and defence technology startup, has raised $100 million in a funding round led by General Catalyst, with participation from existing investors Amal Parikh, Think Investments, and several high net-worth family offices.
This marks the largest-ever private capital raise by an Indian aerospace company, bringing the total funding raised by Raphe mPhibr to $145 million.
Founded in 2016 by Vikash Mishra, Vivek Mishra, and Nitin Katiyar, the company specializes in the design and manufacture of drones, autonomous aircraft systems, and military-grade avionics. Raphe mPhibr operates a fully integrated aerospace manufacturing facility that includes in-house design, simulation, metal and composite processing, engine development, and electronics.
Its flagship products include:
- mR10 – operational drone swarm
- mR20 – high-altitude logistics drone
- Bharat – surveillance drone
- X8 – maritime patrol platform
The company also claims to have developed India’s first indigenous military-grade autopilot and a lightweight internal combustion engine for UAVs.
Raphe mPhibr has established collaborations with major global defence and aerospace players such as Dassault Systèmes, HENSOLDT, and Safran Electronics & Defense. The adoption of platforms like Dassault’s 3DEXPERIENCE highlights its commitment to building sovereign, scalable, and secure engineering systems.
With its systems already operational across diverse Indian terrains, the company is now drawing international interest from regions including Paris, Dubai, and London, signaling its ambitions in the global aerospace supply chain.
The newly raised funds will be directed toward scaling manufacturing capabilities, accelerating R&D efforts, and strengthening strategic partnerships both in India and abroad.
Currently employing over 600 professionals, Raphe mPhibr holds more than 100 unique intellectual properties and aligns closely with the Indian government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives to reduce reliance on foreign defence technologies.
