Marsh has announced the appointment of Ravi Abusaria as Chief Operating Officer for India, Middle East, and Africa (IMEA). Based in Dubai, he will oversee regional operations, enhance client experience, and drive business transformation, with a focus on scalability, digitalisation, and operational excellence across one of Marsh’s key growth markets.
Ravi brings over two decades of global leadership experience spanning financial services, professional services, and large-scale operational transformations. Prior to joining Marsh, he served as COO AMEA and Global Head of Operational Excellence at Mercer, where he led complex, multi-market operating models and spearheaded digitalisation and service delivery initiatives across the region.
Before Mercer, Ravi spent nearly 20 years at Standard Chartered Bank, holding senior leadership positions including Global Head of Operational Excellence, Chief Operating Officer – Private Bank, ASEAN, and Head of Banking Operations, Singapore. In these roles, he drove large-scale transformation programs, service quality initiatives, and productivity-led reengineering efforts across consumer and private banking businesses.
Earlier in his career, Ravi held leadership positions at GE as Assistant Vice President, Asian Paints as Operations Executive, and began his professional journey at Mahindra & Mahindra as a Management Associate, developing a strong foundation in operations management, business planning, and execution excellence.
Ravi also serves as an Advisory Board Member at Pearl Academy School of Business, providing strategic guidance on leadership and business transformation. Reflecting on his new role, he shared, “After 22 incredible years in Singapore, I am excited to share that I will be relocating to Dubai in Q2 this year to take on the role of Chief Operating Officer for India, Middle East and Africa at MARSH, our unified business. This transition marks a significant milestone in my career and personal journey. While I look forward to embracing the vibrant opportunities and challenges that come with leading operations in our fastest-growing region, leaving Singapore, which is now a home, is bittersweet.
