Razorpay has partnered with Sarvam AI to introduce voice-first, conversational commerce experiences in India, marking a significant step toward AI-driven digital transactions.
The collaboration combines Sarvam AI’s full-stack models and agentic AI capabilities with Razorpay’s payments infrastructure to enable users to discover products, place orders, and complete transactions through natural voice interactions in multiple Indian languages.
As part of the initial rollout, Swiggy will serve as an early partner on Sarvam’s chat platform, Indus App, allowing users to order food simply by speaking to an AI assistant. The system is designed to understand user intent and execute the entire transaction flow without requiring traditional app navigation.
This partnership aims to redefine digital commerce by shifting from app-based interfaces to conversational experiences, where users can interact in their preferred language and complete purchases seamlessly within a single interaction. By integrating multilingual AI capabilities with secure payment systems, the companies are enabling AI agents that can both understand and act—bridging the gap between conversation and transaction.
Commenting on the partnership, Shashank Kumar, Managing Director and Co-founder of Razorpay, said, “India’s next phase of digital commerce will be shaped by experiences that feel natural to people. For millions of Indians, that simply means speaking in their own language, rather than typing.” He added that the collaboration brings together Indic language intelligence and payments infrastructure to enable AI agents that can understand intent and complete transactions seamlessly.
Pratyush Kumar, CEO and Co-founder of Sarvam AI, highlighted that the partnership enables the transition from conversation to checkout, as more real-world workflows move into conversational interfaces.
Madhusudhan Rao, CTO of Swiggy, noted that the initiative aims to deliver greater convenience and accessibility by allowing users to interact in their preferred languages, enabling AI assistants to handle discovery, ordering, and payments seamlessly.
Sarvam’s technology stack will also be integrated into Razorpay’s Agent Studio, allowing developers and businesses to build multilingual AI agents capable of interacting with customers in Hindi, Hinglish, and other Indian languages.
By combining conversational AI, voice interfaces, and payment infrastructure, Razorpay and Sarvam AI are laying the foundation for a new category of AI-native commerce, where everyday transactions can be completed through simple, natural conversations.
